SrrTrains v0.01 – Do-It-Yourself-Virtual-Multiplayer-Model-Railroad
The concept SrrTrains is an open concept, that is described on the following pages
The SRR Framework is a chunk of software, that is necessary in each and every SrrTrains layout. Hence it should be provided for free, like any other infrastructure. Therefore we have started the sourceforge project http://sourceforge.net/projects/simulrr and invite everybody to contribute, who is interested in the SrrTrains concept.
The SRR Tools may become a set of useful tools for those, who want to plan, implement and test SrrTrains layouts and parts of them.
(1) Early Experimental DIY-virtual-multiplayer-model-railroad (Step 0032) PRE-PRE-ALPHA!
Please visit the Demo 2012 Page for more info.
(2) Experimental SMUOS for World Creators (Step 0033.06) – OFFICIAL PRE-ALPHA!
Hint: Restricted railway features currently!
Hint: Step 0100 will be the last step of SrrTrains v0.01 (if it will be finished at all)
Hint: NOT contained, but needed: BS Contact / BS Collaborate / Instant Player
Hint: More info about SMUOS (Simple Multiuser Online Scenes): http://smuos.wordpress.com

SRR Tools (Release TLS) *)
Nice Windows program, easy to install!!!
DOWNLOAD HERE: SrrTools_0.03.13(0033.06bf6).zip – SRR Tools for BS Contact/.NET/Windows
- This demo is very easy to install (16+ years
). Just install BS Contact (available at http://www.bitmanagement.de), then install the demo and then start the “SRR Test Frame” (last tested with BS Contact 7.212 and BS Collaborate 1.3.0.3).
- you can use this test frame to test your own avatars, modules and models
- with a license file (available via e-mail), you can activate additional features (tracer, console interface, multi-player-mode)
*) The SRR Tools contain a licensing mechanism, whose intention it is to keep the users and developers of the SRR Tools close together. When you send us an e-mail with your full name and address, we can customize a license file for you, that switches on additional features of the SRR Tools and switches off the splash screen. Afterwards you can send us a voluntary donation of ~10 EUR, if you want to help us get back the expenses we had for the BS SDK.
Core SRR Framework (Release SRR)
Just the core X3D prototypes!!! Programming needed to use them!!!

Test Package (Release TP)
with Demo Layout!!! But without Windows program, ugly GUI!!!

(5) Future Ideas (Your Input Welcome)
The old “TO DO” – List has been replaced by a more modern “Product Backlog”.
But don’t worry, the SRR framework is still developed in “steps”, where you can find the release of the “latest” step at #release. The step 0100 will be the last step of v0.01 and the further develoment is currently divided into the following areas of activity:
- Authoring support (was “step 0050 Python Scripts for Blender”)
- X3D Player Support
- Further functions of the SRR Framework (was “step 0040″)
- Documentation
Here’s the current Product Backlog (2011-08-07).
Remark: An open source project on the sourceforge.net has taken over the development of the SRR Framework, hence it’s unclear to what extent the present product backlog will really be realized.

@CrippLeD SaM
First, let me say a deep thank you for the first comments on this blog. I take them as an incentive to stick with my hobby and to provide further development of the SRR framework.
Unfortunately, I’m afraid a windmill would just be another use case for the SRR object SrrDriveA. My goal is to provide an example layout for those enthusiasts, who want to use the SRR framework to develop their own layouts. It’s NOT my goal to provide a model railroad layout for those, who just want to play with the layouts. So if you want to play with a layout of your choice, please be so kind to either engage an expert who creates a layout for you or build a layout on your own.
The usage of SrrDriveA is sufficiently documented in the module “first”, where a carousel is buildt with this SRR object.
Thank you for your understanding.

@CrippLeD SaM
I had some time to think about your request.
I would offer some sessions, where we meet in a Viennese coffee shop, and I explain to you, how to build layouts and models.
If you pay for the coffee, it will be OK.
What’s your opinion?

As a next step i would prefer:
Where the bridges meet -i would make a marterl or a house or a skyscaper or something.
at the mountains i would set a nude woman there, sunbathing at the feets of the mountains…..
